Here at the Choctaw Area Council, we are proud to have some of the most dedicated, selfless, and knowledgable volunteers in the Southern District. A lot of our leaders and volunteers have been with the scouting program - in one way or another - for years! Our Council - as well as each Council throughout America, relies on extremely dedicated volunteers to promote its mission by preparing and instilling in young people the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. If you are not already a volunteer for our Council of Boy Scouts of America - please consider contacting our office and speak to someone about what being a volunteer means - and what it entails. We would love to have more positive leaders, who can teach our young people the morals and values that comes with being a member of the Boy Scout Organization. Click the links to the left of this page - 'Helpful Materials' and 'Leader Training'. Both of these links will help you with any questions you might have about becoming a leader. There is also a link titled 'BSA Forms' that lists all of the forms you will need during your journey as a leader. Some you may use only once - some you may use every couple of months. Just read what they're about so you can BE PREPARED! We appreciate your willingness to lead, teach and be an example to our young people.
"A
volunteer is a person who can see what others cannot see; who can feel
what most do not feel. Often, such gifted persons do not think of
themselves as volunteers, but as citizens - citizens in the fullest
sense: partners in civilization." - George H. W. Bush
